Bartın University, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design, Department of Basic Sciences, Basic Sciences Division was established in August 2021 and commenced formal education. The department conducts education and training activities at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

In addition to basic education and training activities for students of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design in basic science disciplines, our faculty members also conduct graduate-level education and research activities.

As of April 2026, based on undergraduate degrees, our department has a total of 6 faculty members: 3 with degrees in chemistry, 2 with degrees in physics, and 1 with a degree in chemical engineering. Our faculty members teach Basic Chemistry (KIM101) and Basic Physics 1-2 (FIZ101 and FIZ102) to students in the 1st and 2nd semesters of the Mechanical, Civil, Electrical-Electronics, and Metallurgy-Materials Engineering departments within the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design.
